Ted & Happy Days
"Hello my name is Ted, that's me in the picture together with the young boy I looked after. The picture was taken around 60 years ago in Jaywick. We had our annual holiday there every year from 1952 to 1966. We mostly stayed in Bentley Avenue in a chalet called “Happy Days”, it is still there but much changed and now numbered 30. We always had a good time and the sun always seemed to shine, they were fun, happy times".
"I live here now facing the sea enjoying my retirement, you may see me looking out of the window. I don't get out as much these days due to my bad left leg so I just relax, sit back and enjoy the ever changing view.
What happened to the young boy?. Well I looked after him well and taught him good manners and how to behave, he still lives with me although I think he has aged more than me".
Enjoy the trail,
